These programs exist in a number of smaller villages throughout the Kathmandu Valley. The emphasis in this program is on the sanitary and hygienic mis-practices of the Nepalese remote uneducated people. Environmental contamination and the resulting health hazards associated due to a lack of education in these matters allows for an immediate and gratifying result when an aware volunteer illustrates the benefits of incorporating some fairly simple ideas. You will be living a very simple life in some of the most beautiful scenery imaginable, with people as kind, giving, and loving as you will likely ever encounter. Building trash containers, compost bins, community toilets, livestock pens, and offering health seminars on hygiene, nutrition, first aid, recycling, and women's issues are just a few examples.
