What We Do

ECON works to promote and uplift the export economy of Nepal. Our organization’s priorities include activities that help in developing suitable policies and in promoting Nepal’s export products such as but not limited to handicrafts, garments, felt and woolen goods. 

We conduct the following activities on a regular basis to achieve our goals.

  • We represent the export business community of Nepal in national forums. 
  • We facilitate participation in national and international trade fairs and exhibitions 
  • We organize promotional activities and meetings for export businesses of Nepal. 
  • We promote better export business relations. 
  • We help to strengthen local trading firms and lobbies.
  • We conduct regular training, workshops and seminars on chamber management, and organize information exchange and documentation for businesses related to exporting.  

Our Services 

ECON serves as a vital bridge between Nepal’s trade and commerce sector and government institutions, facilitating meaningful dialogue on issues related to the country’s export industry. Through regular discussions, consultations, and stakeholder engagements, ECON promotes collaboration and contributes to policy and regulatory developments that support the growth of Nepal’s export sector.

The Council maintains strong relationships with key government bodies involved in trade, commerce, and economic development. It is affiliated with the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Nepal Chamber of Commerce, the leading umbrella organizations representing Nepal’s private sector. These affiliations strengthen ECON’s ability to advocate for exporters and foster a more competitive and enabling business environment.

Council organizes workshops, training, interaction, discussion, awareness programs etc. related to export and export promotion in participation of its members and also encourages members for the participation in the programs organized by other associations.

Council rewards its members as per their performance and contribution in promoting export trade of Nepal.

Council lobbies in policy-making government bodies to govern feasible acts, policies for export promotion as well as for the amendment of existing acts, policies in favor of exporters.

Council lobbies on the issues raised by the members to solve day-to-day problems.
