ECON organized a two-day Export Exhibition on the occasion of the 10ht Export Day on January 5 and 6, 2026. The event was in partnership with Trade and Promotion Centre (TEPC) to promote and showcase a diverse range of Nepal’s export products.

The event was officially inaugurated by Dr. Ram Sharan Thapaliya, president of ECON, Mr. Rabindra Shakya, President of the Handicraft Association of Nepal and Mr. Sarad Bikram Rana, Executive Director of TEPC. The exhibition was held in Chhaya Center, at the heart of Thamel.

The exhibition featured a wide array of high-quality Nepali export products, including apparel made from cotton, linen, silk, and wool; metal statue handicrafts; pottery; singing bowls; decorative items; and dairy products. Alongside these products, service-oriented organizations played a key role in strengthening the export ecosystem.

ECON with the support of the TEPC, successfully conducted a one-day training program on HS Code Classification and REX Compliance on 6th February 2026 at Yatri Suites and Spa, Thamel. The program brought together exporters, cargo personnel, artisans, and traders, including participation from the B2BNepal team.

The training featured two specialized sessions delivered by industry experts. The session on REX Compliance was facilitated by Mr. Rajendra Singh, Deputy Director of TEPC, who provided valuable insights into regulatory requirements and compliance procedures essential for smooth export operations. The second session focused on HS Code classification, conducted by Mr. Min Bahadur Kunwar, Senior Officer of TEPC, highlighting the importance of accurate product classification in international trade and customs clearance.

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Export Council of Nepal was held on 22 Poush, 2082. The members of ECON unanimously elected a new executive committee with Dr. Ram Sharan Thapaliya being elected as the President.

Mr. Hari Prasad Dhakal was elected as the first vice-chair, Mr. Hari Dhakal was elected the second vice-chair, Mr. Basanta Raj Adhikari was elected the general secretary, Mr. Raju Baniya, elected as the Treasurer, Mr. Amrit Man Shrestha as the Secretary and Mr. Harisharan Bhetwal as the Co-Treasurer.
